Malaysia’s aim to be a high-income nation will not amount to much if water pollution becomes a major recurring health issue, not to mention the inconvenience people undergo when faced with disruptions in water supply that can go on for days. Our state agencies and SPAN need to properly coordinate the management, control and enforcement of laws protecting our precious water resources. Getting uninterrupted supply of clean water should not be a privilege but a right. All stakeholders, particularly federal and state agencies, must make concerted and coordinated efforts to ensure timely delivery and supply of quality potable water. It goes without saying that our water sources are limited precious resources.
