Duterte warns of more maritime incidents if code of conduct at SCS is not finalized soon 0 SHARES Share it! Share TweetBy Genalyn KabilingBANGKOK — More maritime incidents and miscalculation that could spiral out of control might happen if the code of conduct in the South China Sea is not finalized soon, President Duterte warned Sunday. Duterte made the comment after raising the maritime incident involving a Filipino vessel and Chinese boat near Recto Bank during the weekend summit in Bangkok. A Chinese vessel hit and sank a Filipino vessel in Recto Bank last week, and left the fishermen stranded at sea. A joint investigation into the Recto Bank incident, described by Duterte as “a little maritime accident,” has been proposed by China.
