After the salary increase for the military and the police, President Rodrigo Duterte wanted a wage increase for teachers. Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Duterte made this statement during the 21st Cabinet meeting in Malacañang on Monday. Roque, however, said Duterte did not say how much increase he wanted for teachers. “He did not say how much but he says that they will have to be tangible results of any implementation of the second tax reform package and he said that that should be the increase in teachers,” he said. “But judging by what he wanted for the PNP and the AFP, it could be that he is also aiming to double the entry salary for teachers,” he added.
