President Rodrigo Duterte SIMEON CELI/ PRESIDENTIAL PHOTOPresident Rodrigo Duterte will participate in the high-level general debate of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 21 to 27. "The President will speak on the first day of the high-level general debate on 21 September 2021," a statement from his office said on Sunday. The UNGA is the main deliberative organ of the UN where all the 193 member-states are represented. The session's theme this year is: "Building resilience through hope - to recover from Covid-19, rebuild sustainably, respond to the needs of the planet, respect the rights of people and revitalize the United Nations." During the 75th session of the UNGA in September 2020, Duterte stressed that access to safe and effective vaccines should be made available to all, "rich and poor nations alike."
