In a speech during the oathtaking of newly-elected local government officials of Cagayan de Oro City on Wednesday night, Duterte said that everyone involved in the party-list system was rich, which is why “he lost his enthusiasm.”The President said that the rich used party-list groups as a gateway to politics. According to Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worths of congressmen for 2018, the richest congressman for 2018 is a party-list representative, 1-PACMAN Party-list Rep. Mikee Romero, who has a declared a net worth of P7.858 billion. Another representative from the party-list bloc was also among the top 10 richest congressmen – Manila Teachers party-list Rep. Virgilio Lacson with P793.871 million. Sixty-one representatives across 51 winning party-list groups will be part of the House of Representatives in the 18th Congress.
