Duterte signs EO on Freedom of InformationPresident Rodrigo Roa Duterte signed the Executive Order on the Freedom of Information, according to Information secretary Martin Andanar, Sunday. Also, every Filipino shall have access to information, official records, public records, document, pertaining to official acts and transactions. Access will be denied when the information falls under the exceptions enshrined in the constitution, existing law, and jurisprudence. The president officially signed the executive order on Saturday, July 23, 7:00 pm. Further, public officials are reminded to file their Statement of Assets, Liability and Net worth which will be made available for necessary scrutiny, in accordance to existing law.
