MANILA, Philippines — Members of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) were the first among military personnel to be vaccinated against the COVID-19, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) confirmed Monday. It was Interior Secretary Eduardo Año who earlier bared that members of the PSG along with some Cabinet members were already vaccinated against the new coronavirus. “We are in a state of war, a war against COVID-19. As such, PSG exploits all means in order to deliver its mandate as what is highly expected of them by the Filipino people,” he added. The Philippines’ Food and Drug Administration has yet to authorize the use of any COVID-19 vaccine in the country.
