Geert Wilders, the populist leader of the Freedom party (PVV), has benefited from a fragmentation in Dutch politics. But despite topping several polls, his party is likely to attract less than 20% of the vote and he has no real hope of winning power in a post-election coalition in the Netherlands. So should the attention-seeking Geert Wilders simply be ignored?
