National capital and its nearby areas were hit by a spell of dust storm and heavy rains on Wednesday, bringing relief to Delhi-NCR where resident have been facing hot and humid weather. This is pre-monsoon rains as the monsoon is yet to arrive in Delhi. The India Meteorological Department said thunderstorm with light rain accompanied with gusty winds of the speed of 40-50 kmph occurred over Delhi-NCR. This was due to the influence of cyclonic circulation over North Rajasthan and through running from North Pakistan to low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. Earlier on Wednesday, Skymet Weather had warned of spell of dust storm and thundershower with gusty winds at some places near the national capital including Faridabad and Gurugram.
