Photo: BSSNETROKONA, March 22, 2026 (BSS) - Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Barrister Kaiser Kamal today said Durgapur would be developed as a ‘humane township’ and a prosperous tourism hub. The Deputy Speaker made the remarks while addressing as chief guest the 25th anniversary of Durgapur Press Club at the club premises. Barrister Kaiser Kamal said that construction work is underway for a new railway line in Durgapur and feasibility studies are ongoing for mega bridges over the Someshwari and Mahadeo rivers. He said that Durgapur’s five unions-Kullagra, Durgapur Sadar, Lengura, Kharnai, and Rongchati will be developed as a special tourism hub.
