more-inThe Delhi Police Special Cell on Tuesday claimed to have arrested two members of an alleged inter-State drug cartel and seized ephedrine, a key ingredient of party drug ecstasy, worth ₹22.5 crore. Ashok had allegedly brought the consignment weighing 22.5 kg and Jimmi had come to receive it at a Dwarka village. During his stint at the company, he learnt about the illicit use of ephedrine in preparing ecstasy. About 40 years ago, ephedrine was used to prepare ecstasy tablets in European countries for the first time. Transit pointStating that ecstasy tablets were being supplied to many foreign nationals living in Delhi, he said the tablets are sent from the Capital to various parts of the world through courier companies.
