Greg Kiltie put the hosts ahead but Ayr levelled two minutes before the break through a Lee Ashcroft own goal. Alan Forrest's sixth goal in five games gave the visitors the lead, but Ashcroft redeemed himself with a splendid volley before Ryan slotted in. A draw would have put managerless Ayr top, but instead they remain second.
