Despite lengthy delays and a budget blow-out, Dunedin's bus hub is set to open. Work on the $4.4 million bus hub on Great King St began in July and was meant to be completed by November. That included a decision by the Dunedin City Council (DCC) to replace a pipe, rather than do so in five years' time. The council was aware of major teething problems with new bus services in Wellington, and did not expect similar issues for Dunedin.
