Dunedin student jailed over bestiality images

A Dunedin philosophy student who shared bestiality images online and wrote about his desire to rape babies has been jailed for three years. Benjamin Todd Whitcombe (22) appeared in the Dunedin District Court yesterday after pleading guilty to four charges of exporting objectionable publications, one each of importing, making, possessing, and possessing objectionable publications for the purpose of supply. An investigation by New Zealand Customs showed the crimes had taken place at a North Dunedin address and at his parents’ home. Investigators found another Kik account and traces of child-sex images and videos on a different cell phone. Those images were later distributed by the defendant, using an anonymous file sharing app called Whisper, the court heard.
