Dunedin drunk drivers caught after public tipoffs

Dunedin drunk drivers caught after public tipoffsSTUFF Dunedin Police are warning motorists to not drink and drive after stopping 15 drunk drivers. Four drunk drivers spotted driving dangerously around Dunedin streets were later arrested by police, after tipoffs from the public. While the vast majority of the people stopped were under the limit, 15 drivers were over the 250mcg limit, with seven of these over the 400mcg. Senior Sergeant Jared Kirk, of the Otago Coastal road policing team, said it was clear that the message was not getting through to some drivers. Those drivers were choosing to place themselves and other road users at significant risk of injury or even death, he said.
