The Dundalk midfielder, and former youth-team player for Chelsea, admitted to 112 breaches of an FA rule that prohibits players betting on football activity. The 26-year-old has been fined £600 by the FA and is suspended until April 2. Dundalk released a statement last night stressing that there was “no suggestion” that Clifford, 26, had placed any bets in his time with Stephen Kenny’s team.
