DunPort gets €283m to fund SMEs


The fund will target companies with sales of more than €5 million Niall Carson/PAAn Irish asset management company has raised almost €300 million to create a fund that will lend to small and medium businesses. DunPort Capital Management announced yesterday that it has closed a finance drive that raised €283 million for a funding vehicle called Elm Corporate Credit. The Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, the country’s sovereign wealth fund, is one of the backers. DunPort, which will manage the fund, said that it plans to provide debt finance to businesses. It will target companies across a range of sectors with sales of more than €5 million which require debt “to fund scaling of their activities, acquisitions, recapitalisations or to resolve legacy financing issues”.
