JCD leader Hasan Al Arif told the Dhaka Tribune that they had urged the authorities to postpone the Ducsu elections by three months to ensure a stable and congenial political environment on campus. “We are hopeful that we will win if a free, fair, and credible election is held. The university students also want a credible poll,” he added. The Dhaka University authority announced the Ducsu election—which have not been held in 29 years—as well as hall union polls will be held on March 11 this year.
