Duchess Sophie Württemberg marries French Count Maximilien d'Andigné

German Duchess Sophie of Württemberg married French aristocrat Count Maximilien d'Andigné at the Castle of Tegernsee in Germany today. After the ceremony the newlyweds were brimming with joy as the happy couple kissed outside the Saint-Quirin church. Sophie's parents, Duke Philip and Duchess Marie Caroline of Württemberg, have one son and three daughters - of whom Sophie is the eldest. Diane married Sophie's grandfather Carl, Duke of Württemberg, who is head of the aristocratic house. The family are descendants of the former royal family of the Kingdom of Württemberg, which existed from 1805 to 1918, formerly the Duchy of Württemberg, which began in 1495.
