Forecasters are predicting the warm air will move across Southern Europe until it reaches Ireland later this week. Met Eireann says the mercury could hit 18C on Thursday along with "mostly dry and bright" weather. The Met Office in the UK has predicted highs of 25C in Britain, while Met Eireann says Ireland is likely to enjoy temperatures in the high teens. "Mostly dry and bright on Thursday with lighter winds and afternoon temperatures of 14 to 17 or possibly 18 degrees Celsius. Met Eireann said: "South to southeast winds will reach mean speeds between 50 and 65km/h with gusts between 80 and 110km/h.
