Dublin pub to donate all Good Friday proceeds to charity

Earlier this year, the government lifted the ban on alcohol being sold on Good Friday, and one Dublin pub is marking the occasion by helping charity. Slattery’s Pub in Beggars Bush will donate all proceeds from the day to Our Lady’s Hospice Care, Harold’s Cross and Blackrock, and the local 4th Port Dodder Sea Scout Group in Dublin. It's the first time since 1927 that people will be able to purchase alcohol on Good Friday. Speaking about the decision to gift all proceeds, publican Irial Slattery said:“We wanted to do something constructive for the area on our first Good Friday with a drinking licence. While people have mixed views on the ban lift, we thought taking the opportunity to support groups close to our hearts would preserve the day as a positive.”- Digital Desk
