The Dublin duo of Rob Dickson and Seá n Waddilove ended Ireland’s disappointing run at the Tokyo Olympic sailing regatta on a high point at the weekend and laid to rest their shock disqualifications from last week. The pair ended their first Olympic regatta by winning the final race, book-ending the 12-race series with the opening race win. Saturday’s final day also included a third place but they also counted a 17th place that denied them a place in the medal race final. “I think that me and Seá n are pretty good about staying focus ed on the job,” Waddilove said after racing ended. “No matter who we’re racing against we’re going to try as hard as we can.”Meanwhile, Annalise Murphy similarly didn’t make her medal race final in the women’s single-handed event.
