Last November’s announcement meant that for the first time in almost 500 years, Dublin had a Catholic Cathedral. From 1179, Christ Church Cathedral in the city was the official cathedral in Dublin. Christ Church Cathedral today is the seat of the Church of Ireland Archbishop of Dublin and Glendalough.
