Dublin artist creates realistic sculpture of Leo Varadkar to highlight housing crisis


A visual artist who was born and raised in Dublin is taking to the streets of the city today with an interactive project highlighting the “current housing disaster” in Ireland. Sadhbh Mowlds is currently a studio resident in the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin and will be bringing her hyper-real sculpture of Leo Varadkar, representing him as a homeless person, to the streets of the capital. The hyper-real sculpture of Leo Varadkar, represented as a homeless person. The sculpture is of the former Taoiseach and former leader of the Fine Gael party, Leo Varadkar, who recently stepped down from his position. The sculpture is highly realistic and sees him sitting cross-legged holding a sign which reads: “I may be old news, but homelessness isn’t”.
