National assembly majority leader and Garissa town MP Aden Duale on Sunday, December 28 warned President Uhuru Kenyatta over the negative effects of the handshake. Duale who was speaking to the Sunday Nation in an in-depth year-end interview claimed that the handshake had more negative effects that president Kenyatta ever anticipated. "It has destroyed Jubilee’s internal political bridges, destabilised our party’s political strongholds, undermined the constitutional officeholders, and has killed Nasa (National Super Alliance) bridges," Duale stated. When asked about the fruits of the handshake, the BBI report, Duale stated that the ruling party from the leadership of President Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto were firmly in support of the document. "Jubilee Party, from President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto and the rank and file of our party supporters, is wholly behind the recommendations of the BBI," he added.
