Chennai: Chennai Air Customs seized 9.590 kg of heroin and cocaine, valued at Rs 100 crore, from a passenger arriving from Addis Ababa by Ethiopian Airlines on Friday, officials said. Based on intelligence from AIU officer Anil Kumar, Iqbal B. Urandadi, an Indian passenger who had arrived from Addis Ababa by Ethiopian Airlines on 11 August, was intercepted by AIU officials. A statement from Chennai Air Customs said that heroin and cocaine weighing 9.590 kg worth Rs 100 crore were seized. The substance was seized under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
