KUALA LUMPUR: The National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) is monitoring drug abuse in People's Housing Project (PPR) communities, which it has identified as high-risk areas. "The situation in PPR communities is worrying and could be caused by risk factors such as the high population density and limited recreational facilities," he said. Izhar said Ops BAH 38 is a follow-up to the previous night's Ops Perdana and the agency had managed to round up a total of 139 suspected drug addicts from PPR communities and entertainment joints in areas around Kuala Lumpur. About 84 of those caught tested positive for various drugs such as ganja, opiates, morphine and methamphetamine. Izhar said the teenage addicts will be sent to the agency's Cure & Care rehabilitation centre in Karangan, Kedah after receiving a court order.
