On Wednesday afternoon, a group of Detective Branch police officers from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police were trailing a drug shipment in Omrakandi, Meghna in Comilla. When the police neared the drug dealers, they scattered. When the police surrounded them, one of their numbers – Rashed – jumped from Omrakandi Bridge and fell to his death. Meghna police station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Majid confirmed his death and said the detectives managed to detain five others.
