He said: "In order to bring discipline to the roads and ease traffic congestion, we are going to conduct a drive against unauthorized rickshaws in the city. “There is a racket going on, making some quick money issuing fake rickshaw licenses, and the number of illegal rickshaws is increasing in the city," said Nasir. He added: "Currently, around 54,000 authorized rickshaws are running on the city streets. We will give another 30,000 new licenses," said the mayor, adding that rickshaw licenses could be renewed or illegal rickshaws could be licensed on the spot during the drive.
