Police are seeking the driver of a vehicle involved in a high-speed pursuit at Maheno, south of Oamaru, yesterday. It is believed the vehicle was involved in an alleged petrol drive-off at the North Otago township's independently-owned service station earlier that day, Sergeant Blair Wilkinson, of Oamaru, said. When police attempted to stop the vehicle, described by Sgt Wilkinson as a "dirty blue people mover'', the driver failed to stop and headed south from Maheno on State Highway 1 at high speed.
