Two people have been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a freight train collided with a car in Surrey, B.C., on Monday morning. The crash happened at 179 Street near the Golden Ears Connector, just before 10 a.m. PT. Elenore Sturko said the cause of the collision is still under investigation, but "early indications" are that the vehicle was trying to cross the train tracks when it was struck. Two people were taken to hospital with serious injuries after the collision. Drivers are asked to avoid the area around the marked crossing as police investigate and clear the scene.
