Police said the bus crashed into a rail on the Pha Nok Khao bridge linking Khon Kaen’s Chomphu district and Loei’s Phu Kradung district at 6.30am and fell down to a dry creek below. Rescuers had to douse the bus with water from a fire engine because there was a gas leakage. They took about half an hour to remove the injured passengers from the bus. The passengers were identified as Aor Kaewduang, 22, Bungrat Anphakdee, 71, Boonmee Wongkhamphui, 57, Wilailak Toso, 22, Thitirat Thnipithak, 62, Si Simamala, 33, Patcharaporn Wongkhamphui, 33, and Benjaporn Polchan, 22. The body of the driver was found outside the bus.
