A two car crash on State Highway 6, Rocks Rd on October 17 was the second of two collisions in a month. Charges are likely to be laid against drivers after recent cluster of crashes along Rocks Rd, some of which involved vehicles crossing the centre line into oncoming traffic. There have been three two-car collisions along Rocks Rd, State Highway 6, in the last month. Tasman District road policing manager Senior Sergeant Grant Andrews said driver inattention was a “huge issue” for police. Earlier that week on October 12, two vehicles ended up on the beach after breaking through the chain fence barrier on Rocks Rd.
