Driver in critical condition after North Canterbury ute crashSTUFF Separate crashes in Canterbury within 24 hours have left two people with critical injuries. A man is fighting for his life after crashing his ute in North Canterbury on Sunday morning. Officers were called to Greta Valley, north of Waipara after reports a vehicle had crashed and rolled on Omihi Rd shortly before 3am. The male driver was taken by ambulance to Christchurch Hospital in a critical condition, a police spokeswoman said. On Saturday a woman was airlifted to Dunedin Hospital in a critical condition after her car collided with a pole at the intersection of Pikes Point Rd and Old Ferry Rd, near Waimate at 9.30am.
