Double demerit points in Queensland apply for two or more mobile phone offences committed within a year. Illegal use of mobile phones in New South Wales comes at a cost of five demerit points and a $337 fine. Drivers in Western Australia will incur three demerit points and a $400 fine, while drivers in Victoria will be penalised with four demerit points and a $484 fine.
