A van rolled on SH3 near Awakino in the early hours of Thursday morning. A driver has escaped injury after the van they were driving rolled on State Highway 3 in the early hours of Thursday morning. A police media spokesperson said the single-vehicle crash happened about 4.50am between Manganui Rd and Awakau Rd, north of Awakino. “The driver was out of the vehicle with no obvious injuries,” she said. St John Ambulance and a Fire and Emergency New Zealand unit from Mōkau attended and had left the scene by 5.30am.
