A 34-year-old Ajax man faces three charges after Durham Regional Police say he rammed into a police cruiser parked in front of him after getting woken up while sleeping behind the wheel of his car. Police arrived on the scene shortly after they got a call at around 11:30 p.m. Friday that a man was driving erratically on Thickson Rd. Police found the grey Ford Mustang parked on the side of Nichol Ave. When police approached the vehicle and knocked on the window, the man awoke abruptly, shifted the car into gear and hit the front of the police cruiser parked in front of him. Khizar Bilal, 34, has been charged with impaired driving, possession of cocaine, and driving with a suspended license.
