Sreeramakrishnan inaugurated the drive as part of the World Environment Day campaign with the message, Beat Plastic Pollution. India is this year’s global host of the World Environment Day. Mr. Sreeramakrishnan said that the people of Ponnani had already taken up the United Nations’ call for a plastic free coast. The Speaker released two handbooks on Beat Plastic Pollution and Planting of Trees by giving copies to Ponnani municipal chairman C.P.
