Calcutta, Sept. 5: The Tea Board today invited an expression of interest (EoI) to set up an electronic auction centre at Jorhat in Assam. The applicant shall identify a suitable location at Jorhat for establishing the auction centre. The basis and findings of the survey shall be submitted along with the EoI," the notice adds. "Assam's tea production has increased three-fold since the establishment of Guwahati Tea Auction Centre in 1970 and there is a need to set up another facility," Bidyananda Barkakoty, adviser at the North Eastern Tea Association, said. The last date to submit EoI is October 3.
