Fan Expo is the land of choice. Nerd culture is pop culture now — a change that longtime Fan Expo attendee Brad Wallace notes, but doesn’t lament, as he sits in the family zone, one floor above Cosplay Alley, watching his son. “When I (first) came in 2008, I don’t know if I would have told as many people if I was coming back.”For Wallace, the panels are where Fan Expo is at its best. With its nod to the classic tabletop game Dungeons and Dragons, it’s found a ready audience at Fan Expo, with Hellfire Club T-shirts seen throughout the crowd. Getting photos with Quinn and Van Dien were the pair’s only goal for Fan Expo.
