But now, “We’re bouncing back and people are happy to be racing.”Patterson says Dresden has the best live handle – wagers placed in-person – of any small race track in the province. The loosening restrictions this summer have meant more races at other Southwestern Ontario tracks as well, which has benefitted Dresden. With more race tracks open each venue attracts more travelling racers. Dresden is applying to increase its 11 race day total next season, a long-standing goal of the track.
