Back in 2006, while the official World Cup was going on in Germany, a half dozen outlier – arguably, outlaw – football associations held a terrifically fun, non-sanctioned tournament in Hamburg. They called it the FIFI (Federation ofInternational Football Independents) Wild Cup, featuring six teams from regions not recognized by FIFA. These were sides from Northern Cyprus (the winners), Gibraltar, Tibet, Zanzibar, Greenland and a local club, Republic of St. Pauli. It would sort of be the Europa League, or NIT, of national soccer teams, with top-notch competitors, staged with the blessing of FIFA. So here goes:Pool 1: U.S. (as host), Chile, Italy, Wales, Netherlands, Northern Ireland
