Glioblastoma multiforme, or GBM, the tumour behind Gord Downie’s dreaded diagnosis, carries one of the worst cancer “outcomes.” People tend to survive a median 15 months, even with the best possible treatment, experts say. “With chemo you may kill maybe one-third of the rapidly proliferating or dividing cells,” added Singh. “I do hope that as a young and healthy person that (Downie) will hopefully enrol in clinical trials,” Singh said.
