A video shared by the park shows a grey heron in a flap due to a leaping weasel. At the start of the footage the heron drops the tiny carnivore from its beak so it's possible it was attempting to predate the weasel - but the weasel was having none of it. The footage shows the large bird suddenly on the retreat from the much smaller but determined mammal. The weasel can be seen engaging the heron in a swift and intense moment of interaction before separating. The primary food source for a grey heron in the UK is fish, which they catch in shallow water using their long, dagger-like bills.
