Hip-hop superstar Drake wants to set the record straight on remarks he made to a woman wearing a scarf, prompting a furor on social media. Drake posted a message on his Instagram account Friday saying he wasn’t showing disrespect to Muslims when he joked with a fan about taking off her winter scarf at his London concert Thursday night. Some gossip websites and social media users suggested the musician was trying to get the woman to remove her hijab and interpreted it as an insult to Muslims. The uproar was sparked after a clip of the arena concert was posted online by a fan in which both Drake and the woman in the audience are obscured from the camera’s view. I am well aware of what a hijab is and I would never make a disrespectful comment like that in my life towards someone who is wearing one.
