Back when Dragon Quest Builders was originally released on the PS4, PS3 and Vita in Japan at the start of 2016, the game used the PhyreEngine. That meant porting Dragon Quest Builders across three Sony platforms was made less arduous due to the choice of engine. However, when news broke that Dragon Quest Builders and its sequel would be coming to the Switch, it left a question as to what engine the game would be using. Well, it seems that this Switch version of Dragon Quest Builders is still using PhyreEngine and that it is now working on Nintendo’s new console. This was revealed in the new Dragon Quest Builders demo on the Switch that included the licensing information for PhyreEngine.
