PETALING JAYA: The Pakatan Harapan government cannot rely on making promises and selling hope to steer the country, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong. The MCA president said the government needs to apply good governance and work hard in a pragmatic way for the country to move forward steadily.“Political achievements are not about promises and selling hope. It only comes with good governance and pragmatic hard work," said Dr WeeDr Wee added that he was happy to see the Pakatan government deliver on promises, such as the recognition of the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) and increasing oil royalties for Sabah and Sarawak.“When each of these promises is implemented, it means a new era for the country. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have lost so badly (in GE14). "However, as we move, do we wish for the country to continue on its old path or a wide and free road?" We will continue to expand through participation in forums and challenging debates," he said.“Let the scars become our medals of growth,” added Dr Wee.
