"If you join a political party just for the sake of wanting to be a candidate, then PBS is not for you," he said when meeting members of the Liawan PBS division. Dr Ongkili, who is also Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister, told Liawan PBS members at the meeting that there were those in the party who had an "incurable obsession" to become candidates. He said Nointin's exit from PBS together with five branch leaders had no impact on the division. "The Liawan division continues to function and there are more than enough local leaders to fill the posts vacated by them," he added. Dr Ongkili said PBS secretary-general Datuk Johnny Mositun would be coordinating activities at the Liawan division, including the staging of its annual meeting.
