PETALING JAYA: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad advises against overspending at Ramadan bazaars and buying more than one can eat during the fasting month. “During the fasting month, usually we will have Ramadan bazaars. “I hope that this fasting month will not just be an act of worship but also a lesson for us on the importance of controlling our desires,” he said. Dr Mahathir explained that when one is in control of their desires, they will avoid doing things prohibited by religion and society. Muslims in Malaysia will start fasting on Monday (May 6), as announced by the Keeper of the Rulers' Seal Datuk Seri Syed Danial Syed Ahmad.
