PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad (pic) brushed off allegations that his announcement to cancel the Malaysia-Singapore's high-speed rail (HSR) project preempted the Cabinet decision. Dr Mahathir said the decision to cancel the HSR was done by Pakatan Harapan from "the very beginning." On Monday (May 28), Dr Mahathir announced that the HSR project will be axed but noted that it will take some time due to the agreement with Singapore. Meanwhile, Dr Mahathir assured that the Government will remain "business friendly" to all investors. "Local or foreign investors will be treated the same way and if there is a problem, it will be attended to.
